The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a non-fatal shooting on West Marion Street. Just before 7 p.m. on January 1, 2024, 911 received a call about a shooting with injuries in the 900 block of West Marion Street. Officers with the Elkhart Police Department reached the scene a short time later.

At the scene, officers found a male with an apparent gunshot wound. Medics provided first aid until the victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It is believed that this shooting is an isolated incident.
