The Shasta County District Attorney’s Office has announced that Elijah Potillor was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for the 2022 murder of Jasmyne Glasper. In April 2022, Potillor and his fiancé, 39-year-old Jasmyne Glasper, were arguing while packing their belongings to prepare for an upcoming move.
They were alone inside the residence while the victim’s minor son and Potillor’s mother were outside. When Glasper attempted to leave the home, Potillor allegedly stabbed her in the back multiple times with a kitchen knife. The victim succumbed to her injuries.
In December 2023, Potillor pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. He also admitted that he had previously been convicted of a prior strike offense, second-degree robbery, in Shasta County in 2012. At the time of the murder, Potillor was on parole.
