East Boston man arrested for armed robbery and assault after hitting victim with a rock and kicking victim in the head

The Boston Police Department has announced an arrest in a recent armed robbery on Border Street. According to a Boston Police Department media release, 36-year-old Lenin Esteban Rios Ramos was arrested for armed robbery and assault around 4:14 p.m. on March 26, 2024.

BPD officers responded to 293 Border Street for a reported armed robbery. Officers were informed that the suspect brandished a knife, hit the victim with a rock, and began kicking the victim in the head. The suspect reportedly took around $500 from the victim before leaving the scene.

After a description of the suspect was broadcasted, officers located an individual matching the description among a group behind the building. The suspect was detained and searched. BPD says officers recovered a black folding knife, a medium sized rock, and a screwdriver from the suspect.

Rios Ramos was arrested and charged with armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon to wit shod foot, assault with a dangerous weapon to wit screwdriver, and assault with a dangerous weapon to wit rock.
