Drew County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to North 5^th Street to investigate a 911 call on December 3, 2023, around 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival at the old Wilmar School, deputies found a vehicle in the driveway, with a male gunshot victim in the front passenger seat. A second male gunshot victim was lying in the street.

ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division assumed the double fatal shooting investigation.

The male gunshot victim found in the passenger’s seat of the vehicle has been identified as 25-year-old Suquorey Pitts of Dumas, Arkansas. The male gunshot victim lying in the street has been identified as 21-year-old Independence Young of McGehee, Arkansas.

Both male victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
