The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has arrested a suspect in a recent homicide. According to LVMPD, dispatch received multiple reports of gunfire in the 5700 block of Ritter Lane around 10:45 a.m. on March 12, 2024. At the scene, responding officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to UMC where he succumbed to his injuries. Detectives say the victim was standing in front of a residence when a black male wearing dark clothing rode his bicycle toward the victim. After shots were fired, the man on the bicycle rode away north on Steinbrenner Lane.
On March 21, 2024, LVMPD said in a media release that 47-year-old Donald Holmes was identified as a suspect in the case. He was already in custody on unrelated charges. On March 20, Holmes was rebooked for open murder.
