Detectives need help finding man accused of asking victim for money before stabbing them in the neck

A man suffered a severe laceration after being stabbed in Walk of Fame Park in Nashville on March 31. Now, Metro Nashville Police Department detectives are searching for the stabbing suspect. MNPD says Central Precinct detectives are searching for 33-year-old Jerald Marquese Sanford.

Sanford is accused of stabbing another man in Walk of Fame Park on March 31. The male victim reported that the suspect approached him and aggressively asked for money. The suspect allegedly left, returned with a knife, and stabbed the victim in the neck.

Following the stabbing, the suspect fled on foot. The victim was treated for a severe laceration at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. MNPD says an attempted criminal homicide warrant has been obtained against Sanford. Anyone who has information about his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
