The Office of the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida has announced that a man has been indicted in the shooting death of his girlfriend after an Orange County grand jury returned a True Bill. A news release explains that Denzelle Turner has been indicted on a First Degree Murder charge in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, Veronica Sacco.
In April 2021, Veronica Sacco was reported missing out of Orange County, Florida. Wildlife surveyors found her body wrapped in plastic and a tarp in a remote agricultural area off a dirt road in Lake County two weeks later. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office worked with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and The Florida Department of Law Enforcement to identify Turner as a suspect.
Investigators say Turner killed the victim in Orange County. After Turner was arrested in Georgia, he was extradited to Florida. He is also facing charges of tampering with physical evidence (third degree felony) and interfering with a dead body (first degree misdemeanor).
