A 51-year-old man is behind bars in connection to a homicide at the end of the March. According to the Denver Police Department, it announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a homicide that occurred on March 29, 2024.
Around 6:50 a.m. on March 29, DPD officers responded to the 1600 block of South Federal Boulevard in reference to a shooting. At the scene, officers found a male victim, 35-year-old Luis Gomez Reyes, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
DPD investigators say they identified the suspect as 51-year-old Francisco Ivan Romero. Romero was taken into custody on April 16 with assistance from law enforcement in Arizona. He is being held for investigation of first-degree murder. The final determination of charges will be made by the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
