Denham Springs woman arrested for allegedly setting fire to home with 11-year-old daughter inside

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that it has arrested a Denham Springs woman for allegedly setting fire to her home while her 11-year-old daughter was still inside.

LPSO says 36-year-old Lucille Holloway was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail on November 12 on one count each of Aggravated Arson, Cruelty to a Juvenile, Insurance Fraud, and Misdemeanor Theft.

Authorities say that Livingston Parish Fire Protection responded to a house fire in the 3600 block of Nicholas Drive in Walker around 3 a.m. on October 19.

According to LPSO, Holloway and her 11-year-old daughter were inside at the time but managed to escape. State Fire Marshal’s Office deputies determined that the fire was intentionally set.

Investigators say they learned that the home was in foreclosure. Investigators also alleged that Holloway had accepted financial assistance from a disaster relief organization in the wake of the fire.

After authorities confirmed Holloway had filed an insurance claim for the fire damage, a warrant was obtained for her arrest.

She was arrested on November 12 and booked.
