The Delaware State Police is investigating a shooting at the Red Roof Inn & Suites in New Castle. DSP reports that troopers responded to a shooting at the motel at 1612 North Dupont Highway around 3:33 a.m. on June 16, 2024.
At the scene, troopers learned that a 20-year-old male victim had been transported to an area hospital. The victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm. The preliminary investigation indicates that several individuals were gathered at the motel after attending a concert.
The victim and suspect were involved in an argument that escalated. The suspect fired a shot at the victim before fleeing the area. The DSP Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the shooting.
The suspect has not been identified and no one is in custody at this time.
