In a press release, Delaware State Police said it had apprehended 67-year-old Paul Briggs of Wilmington in connection to a road rage incident in which he allegedly brandished a weapon. A 52-year-old Landenberg, Pennsylvania man called 911 to report a road rage encounter around 12:30 p.m. on December 15, 2023.
Authorities say that the victim was driving southbound on Barley Mill Road in Greenville and stopped at a red light at Montchanin Road. A white male with a beard reportedly pulled alongside the victim in a Honda Accord, brandished a handgun, and sped away. The victim was able to note the Honda’s registration number which was provided to the responding trooper.
The trooper used the registration to contact 67-year-old Paul Briggs who matched the suspect’s description. Authorities say Briggs cooperated and shared his account of the incident. A firearm was recovered from his residence. Briggs was taken into custody without resistance and charged with felony aggravated menacing.
