According to a press release from the Delaware State Police, 21-year-old Emma Brewington of Millsboro has been arrested for sending explicit photographs to a student. Police say that the Criminal Investigations Unit received a report from Laurel High School claiming that Brewing had sent explicit photos to a 16-year-old student. Brewington is a Laurel High School paraprofessional.

Detectives say that Brewington and the student had been communicating electronically since September. According to police, the messages and photos continued until the student’s parent learned about the relationship and reported it to the school. Detectives say they found explicit photos sent by Brewington on the student’s phone.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Brewington on November 14, 2023. On November 16, 2023, Brewington turned herself in at Troop 4 and was charged with a felony count of Obscenity Material Provided to a Person Under the Age of 18. After being arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 4, Brewington was released on her own recognizance.
