According to a social media post from the Del Rio Police Department, a woman was found injured on a roadway following an assault call. On November 19, 2023, at approximately 9:16 PM, police responded to the 400 block of East Bowie Street in response to an assault call. Responding officers were informed that a female juvenile was found unresponsive on the street and several subjects were seen leaving the area.

The female victim was transported to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for treatment. Witnesses provided police with several vehicle descriptions of the suspects leaving the area. At the hospital, the female victim informed police she had been assaulted by several known subjects. The Criminal Investigation Division responded and took over the investigation.

Authorities say several suspects were identified with many of them being juveniles. On November 20, CID conducted a follow-up at the victim’s residence and witnessed one of the suspect vehicles circling the area. The vehicle fled from police. A short time later, a male juvenile was arrested and transported to the Val Verde Juvenile Detention Center.

The juvenile was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance, and Evading Arrest of Detention with a Vehicle.
