The Del Rio Police Department has announced that it has arrested a suspect for sexual assault. Members of the Del Rio Police Department responded to the Val Verde Regional Medical Center just before 5 AM on September 10, 2023, in reference to a sexual assault report.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to an adult victim who reported a sexual assault by a known male suspect. Criminal Investigation Division detectives responded and assumed control of the investigation. Detectives say they developed further information into the allegations.

An affidavit was prepared asking for the issuance of an arrest warrant against the suspect. Once the arrest warrant was granted, detectives conducted surveillance in an attempt to locate the suspect.

On December 11, 2023 around 11 AM, the suspect was located near the area of Greenwood and Griner Street. 42-year-old Jesus Manuel Pina Juarez was taken into custody without incident. He was arrested for the sexual offense and transported to the police station for booking.

Juarez was released to the custody of GEO Correction Facility.
