Parsons Police Department received a call from a truck driver claiming to have seen a body floating in a pond on December 27, 2023. The pond is located in the 2100 block of Highway 641 North.

Upon arrival at the scene, an officer requested assistance with the investigation. Deputies with the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene to help determine the body was that of a male.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrived at the scene a short time later.

The body has been taken to Nashville for an autopsy.
