A teenager is dead and an 18-year-old is behind bars in connection to a fatal shooting at an apartment complex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says it received reports of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Club Pacific Way around 9:22 p.m. on April 9, 2024.
At the scene, responding LVMPD officers found a teenager suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to UMC where he succumbed to his injuries. On April 24, 2024, LVMPD reported that a suspect was apprehended in Utah.
18-year-old DeAjai Guaydacan was identified as a suspect in the case. On April 23, Guaydacan was arrested in Spanish Forks, Utah. The suspect was booked into the local county jail for open murder. Extradition to Las Vegas is pending. Guaydacan is the second suspect arrested in the fatal shooting.
On April 16, a 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested and booked into the Clark County Juvenile Hall for open murder.
