Deadwood, South Dakota – The Deadwood Police Department announced in a social media post that it is investigating a death in the area of Mickelson Trail at 66 Cliff Street.

According to DPD, the investigation started around 7:11 a.m. on January 15 following a report of an individual seen in the creek.

Authorities say it was determined that a man in his 20s was deceased. DPD says preliminary investigations are still in the progress of determining if foul play was involved.

The individual’s identity is not being released at this time. No other details are available.
