The DC Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting that left six people injured. Around 6:10 p.m. on April 10, 2024, officers responded to multiple 911 calls of a shooting in the 1100 block of 21st Street Northeast. At the scene, responding officers found multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately rendered medical aid.
One male victim was pronounced deceased. Two men, one woman, and a nine-year-old girl were transported to an area hospital. None of these victims have life-threatening injuries. A 12-year-old boy arrived at the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. DC Metro Police say the preliminary investigation indicates that the suspects exited the vehicle and began shooting at people outside in the neighborhood.
