Detectives with the DC Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting of a man in Southeast DC. On December 22, 2023 around 11:16 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to the 3000 block of Stanton Road SE after the sounds of gunshots.

At the scene, officers found evidence of a shooting. Moments later, First District Officers were informed that a rideshare driver had transported a man to the First District station suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim succumbed to his injuries. The Metropolitan Police Department identified the victim as 31-year-old Tejuan Coleman of Southeast DC.
