DC Police arrests 15-year-old juvenile for carjacking and shooting on Friday

The DC Metropolitan Police Department has announced the arrest of a teen in connection to a carjacking and shooting. On January 12, 2024, the victim was ambushed by three suspects when he was sitting in his vehicle in the 1900 block of 14th Street Southeast. The suspects assaulted him and robbed him at gunpoint before two suspects took his vehicle.

A short time later, one of the two suspects began exchanging gunfire with an unknown individual in the 3300 block of Benning Road Northeast. Metropolitan Police said that the unknown person returned fire hitting the suspect. Responding officers found the carjacked vehicle as well as the injured suspect.

A 15-year-old male juvenile from Woodbridge, Virginia was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking, Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery, Robbery, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
