DC Police arrest suspect in quadruple shooting that killed two men

The Metropolitan Police Department has announced an arrest in a quadruple shooting that killed two men. Around 11:20 a.m. on July 18, 2024, MPD says its officers responded to the 2200 block of Alabama Avenue Southeast after hearing the sounds of gunshots.

Police say four victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds. Two adult males succumbed to their injuries. The decedents have been identified as 29-year-old Lamont Street and 50-year-old Jermaine Proctor.

An adult male victim and a juvenile female victim were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives believe multiple suspects exited a vehicle and began shooting toward the adult male victims.
