The DC Metropolitan Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to a recent robbery. MPDC said in a news release that Third District Detectives arrested a man in connection to a Northwest Robbery.
Around 11:40 a.m. on April 21, 2024, the victim was walking with his bicycle in the 1400 block of 9th Street NW. As the victim passed the suspect, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim and tried to flee with the victim’s bike. When the victim chased the suspect, the suspect left the bike and fled on foot.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the attack. On April 22, 2024, MPDC arrested 32-year-old Izat Marcus Petway on a charge of Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery (Aggravated Assault).
