The DC Metropolitan Police Department has arrested a suspect in the 2022 homicide of 32-year-old Clayton Marshall. Police say members of the Metropolitan Police Department arrested 19-year-old Derrico Johnson on November 29, 2023. Johnson was already in custody at the DC Jail.

Authorities say Johnson has been charged with First Degree Murder While Armed. Just before 12:30 PM on April 12, 2022, Seventh District officers responded to the 2200 block of Savannah Street SE in reference to a shooting. Once officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wound injuries.

The victim, later identified as 32-year-old Clayton Marshall, was transported to a local hospital where he later passed away. A second male victim was located at another hospital where he was receiving treatment for gunshot wound injuries.
