The Metropolitan Police Department has announced an arrest in a shooting that happened on Foote Street. According to a media release, Sixth District detectives announced an arrest had been made in a shooting in the 5900 block of Foote Street Northeast.

Around 2:02 p.m. on November 29, 2023, the suspect allegedly shot the victim inside the hallway of the building at the aforementioned location. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On March 6, 2024, 46-year-old Jerry Tyree was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
