The DC Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch has announced an arrest in a fatal shooting of a man in Northeast. Around 12:09 p.m. on March 8, 2024, Fifth District officers responded to a report of the sounds of gunshots in the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road Northeast.

Responding officers found a man with at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. MPD police have identified the victim as 46-year-old Jimmy Thomas Jr. 27-year-old Damon Clark was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed.
