Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch detectives are investigating a fatal shooting of a man in Northeast DC. According to a press release from MPD, Fifth District officers responded to the 600 block of Hamlin Street NE in response to an unconscious person around 8:15 a.m. on December 15, 2023.

Once officers reached the scene, they located a man with gunshot wounds. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities have identified the victim as 37-year-old Marcus Vines of Northeast DC. MPD has not provided any suspect information at this time.
