Homicide Branch detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that killed a man in Northeast DC. Around 11:43 p.m. on December 28, 2023, Fifth District officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of 17th Street.

At the scene, officers found a man inside of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The DC Metropolitan Police Department has identified the victim as 51-year-old Freddie Lee Crawford of Northeast DC.
