Curtis Hall charged with Vehicular Manslaughter after pedestrian fatally struck in Buffalo

The Buffalo Police Department has announced that an arrest has been made after a pedestrian was fatally struck by an automobile on William Street Friday night. According to a press release from the Buffalo Police Department, Ferry-Fillmore District officers responded to an accident in the 1000 block of William Street around 9:30 PM on December 15, 2023.

Once officers reached the scene, they located a male victim in the road. AMR personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The Accident Investigations Unit responded. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and spoke with officers who noticed a strong odor of alcohol on the his breath.

The driver failed field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest. 36-year-old Curtis Hall, of Buffalo, was transported to ECMC for a blood draw. He has been charged with one count of Vehicular Manslaughter in the Second Degree and one count of Driving While Intoxicated. The victim was a 69-year-old Buffalo man.
