Update – The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that the victim in this shooting has succumbed to her injuries. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

CCSD says the suspect is in custody and will be prosecuted by District Attorney General Frederick Agee.

Original – The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting outside the city limits of Gadsden that left the victim in critical condition. CCSD reports that it received a call about a subject who had been shot around 5 p.m. on August 24, 2024.

The victim remains in critical condition. CCSD says the alleged shooter was immediately apprehended and there is no known threat to the public. At this time, the identities of those involved are not being released.
