Crash involving multiple vehicles in Candia leaves multiple people deceased

The New Hampshire State Police is currently investigating a serious crash involving multiple vehicles on Route 101 in Candia. Around 12:20 p.m. on August 17, 2024, Troop A state troopers responded to reports of a head-on collision between two vehicles.

At the scene, troopers learned that the driver of a 2010 Toyota Tundra was traveling east at a high rate of speed when the vehicle side-swiped a 2018 Nissan Sentra. The vehicle hit the guardrail before veering across the center median and into the westbound lanes.

The vehicle then hit a 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer head-on. Authorities say the drivers of the Tundra and Wagoneer succumbed to their injuries. A passenger of the Jeep suffered life-threatening injuries and passed away at an area hospital.

Authorities have identified the driver and passenger of the Nissan Sentra as 48-year-old Velka Pacheco McMahon and 18-year-old Kelly McMahon. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the names of the deceased are not being released.
