The Covington Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting of a two-year-old. According to a media release from CPD, Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives responded with the Evidence Collection Unit to a shooting that occurred on Monday. Around 12:44 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of Warren Street in reference to a 2-year-old child who had been shot.

The child was rushed to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where they were pronounced deceased. At this time, detectives do not believe there is any danger to the public. The shooting remains under investigation.
