The Covington Police Department has detained three juveniles in connection to a murder on January 23. According to a CPD media release, it is investigating a shooting that occurred in the Latonia neighborhood. Around 3:26 p.m., officers responded to the area of 39th and Decoursey for a shooting.

At the scene, officers discovered two 14-year-old juveniles suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim is in stable condition. The other victim succumbed to their injuries after arriving at the hospital. On January 24, 2024, CPD said it had taken a 17-year-old juvenile into custody in connection to the homicide in the 3900 block of Decoursey Avenue.

The 17-year-old is charged with Murder. On February 8, 2024, CPD detectives carried out three juvenile pickup orders on three juveniles. The three juveniles are charged with Complicity to Murder stemming from the same incident. In total, four juveniles have been charged.
