Coos County Sheriff’s Office reports that missing Joshua McCoy has been found deceased. McCoy was reported missing on the evening of November 9, 2024 via a third party at 6:27 p.m.

Around 6:45 p.m., first responders reached the scene. Police say it was determined that the child had a cell phone and a phone-ping was conducted. The information was not helpful.

CCSO says several deputies began searching the property while determining that allegations of Joshua being picked up by a known family member were untrue.

The search continued on November 10 and November 11. CCSO says the search continued on November 12 with the help of federal partners as well as local Search and Rescue.

Around 12:30 p.m., Joshua McCoy was found deceased approximately 1.6 miles away from his residence. CCSO says the investigation is ongoing.
