A 33-year-old man is behind bars on a charge of Murder in the First Degree following a stabbing in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Police Department reports that its officers responded to a stabbing in the 00 block of West Las Vegas Street around 2:36 p.m. on July 28, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found an adult male victim suffering from at least one stab wound. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Isaiah Curtis Plair.

33-year-old Rocky West was arrested in connection to the murder. West was booked on a charge of Murder in the First Degree. CSPD reports that this is the city’s 24th homicide of the year. At this time last year, there were 17 homicides.
