A 31-year-old Port Angeles man is in custody following an investigation into two separate drive-by shootings. Seth D. Weathers was remanded to the Clallam County Correctional Facility on two counts of drive-by shooting.
Deputies with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 100 block of Finn Hall Road on December 15, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m. to investigate a report of a drive-by shooting. At the scene, deputies made contact with the two victims who alleged they were riding horses when they heard an unidentified vehicle speeding in their direction. After a failed attempt to get the driver’s attention, the victims heard three gunshots. One of the victims was close enough to see three muzzle flashes discharge from the window on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
A search of the area turned up a spent Hornady 9mm shell casing. Residential surveillance footage revealed three gunshots followed by a blue pickup truck traveling east to west.
Port Angeles police responded to a drive-by shooting on December 16, 2023, near the intersection of Park and Peabody streets. A motorist reported that a driver of a blue Dodge truck fired at them. Officers located a spent Hornady 9mm shell casing in the area.
A deputy spotted the suspect vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 101. The deputy followed the suspect vehicle to the Walmart in Port Angeles. A Washington State Patrol trooper and the deputy pulled the suspect vehicle. The driver was identified as Seth D. Weathers. A 9mm handgun was found on Weathers’ person.
