On December 9, 2023, San Francisco California Highway Patrol requested assistance from California helicopter H30 in reference to a vehicle wanted for reckless driving. The crew of the H30 arrived as the vehicle crossed the Oakland Bay Bridge at speeds exceeding 120 MPH. Authorities say the suspect vehicle led officers on a 45-minute chase that spanned through three counties.

With help from the H30 helicopter, ground units were able to safely set up spike strips. After the suspect vehicle hit the strips, the vehicle lost multiple tires. The driver eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Five occupants were taken into custody. CHP Contra Costa is in charge of the investigation.
