A 14-year-old boy has been arrested by the Chicago Police Department and charged with murder and attempted murder. In a news release, Chicago Police said a 14-year-old boy had been charged with murder for the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old male and the attempted murder of a 15-year-old male.
The juvenile is charged with First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, and Aggravated Battery/Discharge Firearm. CPD says the offender was arrested in the 100 block of South Central Park Boulevard around 8:16 a.m. on April 22, 2024.
CPD alleges the 14-year-old shot and killed a 17-year-old in the 500 block of West Roosevelt Road on March 2, 2024. A 15-year-old was also shot and injured in the incident.
