A press release from the Chicago Police Department explained that a Hispanic offender is wanted for the attempted kidnapping and luring of a youth. On November 13, 2023 just before 4 PM, a 12-year-old female was walking her dogs in the 6100 block of West 62nd Street. An unidentified man driving a black SUV called to the child and questioned whether she needed a ride. According to police, the child observed the unknown male performing lewd acts.

As the child continued to walk away, the unknown male began to curse at the child and drove away. Police describe the offender as a Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s with a slender build, short-cropped curly hair, and full facial hair. The offender was driving a newer edition black 4-door compact SUV with tinted windows. The make, model, and license number are not known.
