The Chicago Police Department has announced a charge of first-degree murder for a man accused of being responsible for a fatal shooting in August. CPD said 57-year-old Alex Rodriguez of Chicago had been charged with one count of First Degree Murder and one count of Murder – Other Forcible Felony Issuance of Warrant.
Rodriguez was taken into custody by members of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in the 2400 block of West 40th Street on December 19, 2023. He is accused of fatally shooting a 54-year-old victim in the 2700 block of West Wilcox Street on August 16, 2023.
