Charlottesville Police obtain warrants for suspect in shooting at intersection of Cherry Avenue and Ridge Street

Update – The Charlottesville Police Department confirmed Brown turned himself in this afternoon without incident.

Original Story – The Charlottesville Police Department has announced the identification of a suspect in a shooting earlier tonight. According to CPD, detectives obtained warrants for Corinthian “Zayquan” Brown in connection to a shooting that occurred just before 7:10 p.m. on April 16, 2024.

Detectives determined that the shooting occurred at the intersection of Cherry Avenue and Ridge Street based on evidence found at the scene. Brown is charged with Malicious Wounding, Shooting from a Vehicle, Maliciously Shooting at a Vehicle, and Use of Firearm During Malicious Wounding.

At this time, Brown is not in custody. CPD says he should be considered armed. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call CPD at 434-970-3280 or Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.
