Charlottesville, Virginia – Police in Charlottesville are investigating a shooting incident on Friday morning.
In a social media post, the Charlottesville Police Department said its officers responded to a report of shots fired near the 600 block of Belmont Avenue around 2:07 a.m. on April 4, 2025.
CPD said that its officers found a residence and vehicle that were struck by gunfire. No injuries have been reported at this time.
Belmont Avenue has been shut down between Avon Street and 6th Street Southeast as the investigation continues.
A police presence should be expected in the area. No other details are available at this time.
