Charlottesville Police arrest suspect in stabbing on Emmet Street

Charlottesville, Virginia – The Charlottesville Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to a stabbing on Emmet Street.

According to the Charlottesville Police Department, CPD and UVA PD officers responded to the area of 100 Emmet Street for a report of a stabbing around 4:35 p.m. on February 27.

Initially, police sent out an alert that officers were searching for a white male wearing blue sweatpants and a red sweatshirt.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition. In an update, CPD confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody.

No other details are available at this time.

Update – The Charlottesville Police Department has identified the suspect in the stabbing in the 100 block of Emmet Street.

Authorities say a male victim was found suffering from stab wounds to the torso. The victim remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect and victim were at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Thomson Road before the incident. There was an altercation that led to the victim being stabbed.

The victim walked to the location where he was found. CPD says 44-year-old Edward Conlin Lee has been charged with Malicious Wounding.
