The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating the shooting of a 2-year-old victim who suffered life-threatening injuries. CMPD reports that its officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 5000 block of Evoke Living Lane around 1:40 a.m. on September 15, 2024.

At the scene, officers found that multiple apartment homes had been hit by gunfire. Authorities found a two-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside one of the residences.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. CMPD reports that she is currently listed in stable condition. No other details are available at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
