Four people have been shot in Charlotte, North Carolina. One victim is dead and three others are at area hospitals. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reports that its Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide in the 3500 block of Shamrock Drive.
Around 11:30 p.m. on August 2, 2024, CMPD officers responded to the aforementioned area for a deadly weapon call for service. At the scene, responding officers found four victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment. CMPD says the preliminary investigation indicates that two suspects attempted a robbery.
During the robbery, shots were fired and four people were injured. No other details are available at this time.
