Homicide Unit Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are investigating an early morning homicide in the 16200 block of Long Talon Way in the Steele Creek Division. Steele Creek Division officers responded to a shots fired call at the aforementioned location around 2:30 a.m. on December 27, 2023.

At the scene, officers found two victims with gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers also determined that an occupied residence had been shot into although no one inside the residence was injured.
