The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has announced an arrest in five separate indecent exposure cases along the McAlpine and McMullen Creek Greenways. Around 11:45 a.m. on January 15, 2024, South Division officers responded to a report of indecent exposure in the 8400 block of Tifton Road. The female victim informed police that the suspect exposed himself to her while she was walking along the McMullen Creek Greenway.

CMPD said the victim was physically unharmed. During the investigation, detectives say they were able to determine that Nicholas Mermigas matched the description provided by the victims in all five cases.

The victims in all five cases reported that the suspect exposed himself to them while they were walking along the greenway. On January 18, 2024, Nicholas Mermigas was arrested and charged.
