Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police charge Al-Terrik Bogar in slaying of Jah’Zir Elijah Jackson

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced in a press release that a suspect had been arrested in the slaying of Jah’Zir Elijah Jackson. Authorities say the victim in the case was identified as Jah’Zir Elijah Jackson who was 18 years old. Police say the victim’s next of kin were notified.

Detectives say they have charged 18-year-old Al-Terrik Bogar in connection to the case. Bogar is facing charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Attempted Murder, and Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property for his actions shooting a second victim.

CMPD said officers are not currently looking for additional suspects, but the investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS to speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective.
