A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a Detroit man and shooting four others. The Detroit Police Department said in a social media post that 47-year-old Charles Deandre Carter was charged.
Around 12:13 a.m. on May 20, 2024, DPD officers responded to a residence in the 17000 block of Ohio Street for a shooting. At the scene, officers found a 46-year-old man lying on the sidewalk in front of the home with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The man was pronounced deceased. Four non-fatal victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment via private vehicle. DPD alleges that Carter was involved in an altercation with multiple people when he fired a handgun multiple times.
Carter is charged with Second-Degree Murder, four counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, and five counts of Felony Firearm.
