Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrests man in connection with 111 violations of domestic-related protective order

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office announced its Judicial Services Domestic Violence Unit arrested a man in connection to more than 100 violations of a domestic-related protective order.

Authorities say information was developed indicating that the man was in North Carolina. CCSO says officers contacted the Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office who agreed to extradite the man to Maryland.

The local police department in North Carolina arrested the suspect. CCSO says the protective order was obtained against 44-year-old Dennis Lee Jalbert in April 2024.

Jalbert reportedly lives in North Carolina and the victim lives in Charles County, Maryland. Authorities allege that Jalbert called and texted the victim repeatedly for six months.

During that time, police say they took 11 reports, obtained eight arrest warrants, and three criminal summonses were issued. Jalbert is facing numerous charges, including Violations of a Protective Order, Harassment, and Telephone Misuse.

Jalbert was extradited to Charles County before being released on an unsecured $1,500 bond.
