Chambers County Sheriff’s Office arrests man in death of his son-in-law

Chambers County, Texas – The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office says a man is behind bars in connection to the deadly shooting of his son-in-law.

According to Sheriff Brian Hawthorne, deputies responded to a deadly shooting at a residence in Old River-Winfree around 9:35 p.m. on July 1, 2025.

Deputies and Mount Belvieu Police Department officers reached the scene and secured the suspect who has been identified as David Snapp.

The victim, Brian Yarbrough, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

 

Snapp, who is the victim’s father-in-law, has been charged with Murder. He is currently being held in the Chambers County Jail with a $500,000 bond.
